But how much does it
cost to stay in Thailand ?
Either a lot or very little at the same time. The big 4/5 star Resorts have
almost reached western prices , often higher.. ... but the quality is
without doubt superior. The best thing to do is to enquire and ask people
who are "veterans" of the area to give you some info and any recommendations
that could be helpful .We will be pleased to help you with any info and tips
you may request.
Send us a text message on 0039 338-2120708 (italian mobile)
when you are in the Krabi area and if convenient, we could meet up for a
drink and you can pick our brains for any more info we are able to give you

"Do it yourself" in Thailand is generally quite cheap. Organised
tours can be pretty expensive due to all the costs and commissions
that go between hands , adding up to a high price boosted by useless
and inevitable costs.
This Web-Site has been built by me for those who love freedom and
last minute decisions when travelling , not for travellers,
holidaymakers and packaged tourists forced to get up at the crack of
dawn to go on some tours and transfers to destinations booked 2
months in advance.
For those who prefer complete freedom and those who say " tomorrow
lets go to...... " here you will find company and organisation. No
obbligations or deposits. Just book your ticket and come over to see
us.... |

Many people wonder what the cost of life is in Thailand and ask
themselves if with "only" 1.000 Euros per couple would they be able
to spend a weeks holiday by the sea. After many years of Thailand we
can say that all this is possible saving many euros too. Why? because
Thailand has a low level of life, especially where food is concerned.
Everything is relatively cheap. Even Lobster, sold generally to
tourists, costs about 20/25 Euro /kg (1000/1500 bht)Normal
dishes based on rice and prawns or chicken rarely go over
100 bht. BBQ prawns in small open air restaurants are served at
tables for around 1000 bht/Kg. These prices are valid only for
street stalls and not in the megaresorts on the beach... |

Accommodation in bungalows, hotel rooms or guesthouses is quite
cheap. Prices can vary according to location and however those tried
by us usually do not go over 800-1000 bhts a day for a couple. You
can find concrete bungalows or bamboo huts in some areas at 5 euros
per night but then most comforts are forgotten.
Huge discounts can be had for "long" stays . I must say that often
guesthouses have cheap , clean and well furnished rooms at low
prices that could easily compete with 3 star hotels inThai or 4 star
hotels in Italy. Check the room first before you accept the price.
This is a normal procedure in Thailand.
Don't be afraid to say no. They are used to it. |

A
moped or motorbike is surely the best way to feel complete freedom
and independence You can rent them anywhere, negotiating price and
number of days . The more days you rent the lower the price. Just to
give you some indication on the prices, a 110 cc.automatic moped
costs about 200 bht per day, the gear bikes about150bht. Recently
the prices have gone down even more, especially for long periods.
Tanya and I rented a seminew Honda Phantom for Euros 4,10 per day.
If we had taken a 110cc bike we would surely have got it for 650 bht
a week . Some manage to rent mopeds at 70 bht per day but often the
conditions of the wheels are not too good... Whatever you rent,
remember not to leave your passport, make a copy of the passport or
leave any other form of ID especially if you do not know the rental
shop. When driving, raise your alert level by at least 10 times .
Thais are reckless and often do not stop at the Stop signs... There
is so much to see inland too, it would be a pity not to discover it
all. |
